Summary
Documents concerning expedition to find route from San Diego and Monterrey; weapons are requested due to repeated Indian attacks. folio 390 unrelated. It deals with authorizing surgery on deceased pregnant women. 20 more soldiers are requested for expedition. Diary is kept on Indian populations encountered and terrain discovered. Report that some Indians have beards. Documents are in random order and basically deal with expedition to San Diego to find new connecting routes with Monterrey. (M. Marroquin. September, 1988)

Diaries sent to viceroy on expedition to Rio Colorado and Gila; new Indians are found; prisoners are taken; tobacco is requested to deter soldiers from desertion. Summary
Ugarte y Loyola and virreynato correspond concerning relations with Indians near Carrizal; need for temporary relief replacing veteran officials. Proposal made that presidios be given captains as leaders rather than second leutenants to boost troop morale. Request made that comandante inspector relay update on inspection of troops; Ugalde to take over command of troops in Texas, Coaquila, Leon and Santander. Cadete Diaz de Luna sent to provincias to serve. Ugarte y Loyola returns original expedientes received from Matias de and Santander for which arrangements were not completed (documents not present). Summary
Correspondence between virreynato and Ugarte y Loyola; virreynato requests that sale of Calo's house be approved by Beregana. royal officials of Potosi demand copies of certain ordinances concerning provisions for Bexar. Virreynato remits certified copy of letter concerning Carranque's demand for financial support from her Husband Matamoros y Molina; sends salary to surgeon; refers to Bando regarding transport of fruit and seeds from Guadalaxara throughout kingdom; requests that Ugarte y Loyola publish Bando (not present) in provincias. Answer to letter of April 22, 1786 stating Ugarte y Loyola's salary is same as governor of Puebla; twenty copies (not to comandancia. Ugarte y Loyola states intent to continue direct correspondence with royal court and to send copies of correspondence to virrey. Notifies virrey that reimbursement is awaited by dragones in Puebla for their trip. (D. J. McClelland, November 1987)
