Details of Indian invasion of mission of los Adaes, French and Indian fighting against Spanish. Gives geographical limits of province of Texas, describes fruits cultivated, resources for pasturing, construction, water, wildlife, animals, commerce, mining. Discusses war with Apaches and inability to reduce them. Establishment of San Fernando and population figures. Request for troops in San Sabas; cattle, horses, provisions in Adaes due to Indians leaving missions, ranches needing to be reestablished, Indian war hindering exploitation of land, risk of families leaving. Correspondence on new governor to be instructed by Cuellar; mention of conflict between Cuellar and Aguero; petition by Cuellar to go back to Tarahumara and leave expedition in charge of captain of Durango; concern about his Brother being replaced in battalion of savoya. Description by Rodriguez of unfortunate situation with Indians in Monclova and Santa Rita. Cuellar reports of his situation and that of his troop, and of his encounters with Indians to Croix. Part of diary by Leizaola reporting in detail the situation of his troops in following tracks of Apaches near Chiguagua. Cuellar congratulates Faini as new governor of Nueva Vizcaya and tells him of his plans related to military expediton, also describes in detail clashes with Apaches, their military tactics, explains why he does not follow order given by visitador general in war against Indians, mentions failure to capture Indians who attacked Chihuahua and imprisonment of three Indian women, and death of Ten Young people due to smallpox (?). Documents discussing contributions given by various people to cazique summa for tools and oxen for the land of San Lorenzo, mention of tools and beasts given by Cuellar. Notarized documents concerning management of public funds by capitulares of Cavildo and deputies of commerce and mines of Chihuahua funds to be used as ordered by Cuellar while he is absent in expedition against Indians. Tunon appointed as temporary governor on Cuellar's absence. Documents stating man-power of Cuellar's troops for expedition and his plans to examine land on frontiers of Nueva Vizcaya. Testimonies giving detailed description of auction of sheep, of bidders, prizes and money gained - will be used for extraction of water, also mention of scarcity of cattle meat. Correspondence mentioning donations to buy gunpowder and artillery for war against Indians. Order given by Cuellar to his Brother to instruct troops; discussion of death penalty or punishment of baqueta given to Indians; discussion of donations in money and beasts promised by commerce of Durango; acknowledgement of arrival of Cuellar's Brother to Chihuahua and detailed description of desertion of one of his Cavos during trip to Chihuahua; discussion of difficulty at presidio due to lack of payment of salaries to soldiers for several years; description of Indian raids in Chihuahua and urgent campaign against them by Cuellar; mention of promised donations to be given by several haciendas, list of those who have not contributed to expedition, and list of people, places and monetary amounts donated; also various letters giving thanks for donations received.
