Alderete is given cedula of invalid. Notice of vacancy for Alferez in Parras. Letters giving notice of prosecution of soldiers from Aguaverde. Castro notifies viceroy about deterioration of health due to intensive raining. Transfer of soldiers to San Cristobal. Letter about the Queen giving birth. Legal jurisdiction given over Nuevo Santander. Revision of archives and accounting records of outgoing governor is done due to inconsistencies on reported outlays made in war against Indians. Refund given to governor Castro for travel expenses. Corlier receives title of marquez. Maxent receives licence to travel to Valladolid. Series of letters confirming procedures for processing legal documentation are sent from viceroy's and governor's offices (authorizations of licences to travel, taxes, migration, marriages etc.). (M. Grimarest informs viceroy of numerous Apache raids in Banamichi, Bacoachi, Cocospera, and Santa Cruz; Apaches kill people and steal horses and cattle in raids. He states that foot Opata auxiliaries are better in combating Apaches than mounted soldiers but that Former are few in numbers. He requests more soldiers. Viceroy responds that expenses for maintaining military personnel is high, and that it is not possible to increase number of soldiers. (J. Tapia, October, 1987)

Summary
Concerns Series of autos and reports about need to create a militia force in Nayarit and vicinities to protect Spanish assets and mines produce to Spain. Military officials report hostile Indians in the area to justify request. Document contains strategies for logistic organization of militia forces I.e., giving some auxiliaries Lanzas and others fire arms shipped from Spain through Veracruz. (M. Marroquin, August 1989)
