Cabello, Urbano Ynoxosa, Josef Marcos de Aguilar, et. Al. Contention of marriage of Maria de la Trinidad with Urbano Ynojosa.
San Fernando/Bexar. June 4, 1781-November 29, 1781. Auto. Original. Signed.
Petition brought by brothers and uncles of the girl to cause the marriage to not be allowed. The reasons range from age, the girl was 13, lack of knowledge of christianity, and that the Indian was beneath the girls station. She was a Mulatto. The controversy ends with a mutual agreement to annul the contract as the Indian has found another bride and the girl has stated she no longer wishes to marry. (D. Coates) (1979)
