Document gives current (1730) population figures for both Indian and Spanish sectors and summarizes the parrish baptism and burials for previous years. Spanish figures give occupational breakdown and result is a good composite picture of the mission and presidio. Makes brief comments of the state and accoutrements of church and mission houses, census and catechism of Indians, figures on supporting farms and ranches, and gives good description of the most beautiful church of the province. A Series of documents relative to the establishment of a presidio at the Valle de Xicarilla. The Xicarilla Apaches had told the governor (Bustamante) that they wished to embrace christianity etc. It was then recommended that a presidio and three missions be established in the Valley. Apparently the Xicarillas were seeking protection from the Cumanches. After some deliberation, it is recommended that the Xicarillas be moved to Taos, since the establishment of a new presidio would be expensive and would drain the resources of the presidios at Conchos and Casas Grandes.
