Summary
Three letters by the above authors relating to the reduction of the natives of the new mission del Angel la Mas Septentrional de la peninsula by padre Wenceslao link. The description centers on a particular encounter between the Father and the Indians who wanted to embrace our holy catholic faith; and a fierce chief of the Bravos (Indians). The christians win a battle, the chief is imprisoned, accepts the faith; 1662 are baptized. (C. Briggs) (1975)

Brief review 1751 Pima rebellion, including leadership Luis, martyrdom frs. Rhuen, Tello. States one motive revolt revenge against Vecino Guevavi, other motives rumors that Rhuen had killed Indian Boy with a stick, Tello had whipped/imprisoned Indian woman, where she died. Believes real reason revolt Luis' arrogance, however. States Indians never punished. Indication serious civil-religious conflict between Parilla, Jesuits. Critical Parilla in general. Praises Jesuit conduct, exonerates missionaries from blame for revolt. (T. Sheridan) (1976)
