Administrative correspondence concerning shipping: Croix request ship pass through Guaymas to facilitate communication with Californias and estacamentos on Gila and Colorado rivers; paquebot San Carlos returned from supply trip to presidio Loreto and missions; fragata Santiago returned from San Francisco, San Diego, and Monterrey--only novedades are desertion of two soldiers and murder of several Indians by a serviente; going to try out new fragata Nuestra Senora del Rosario (aka La Princesa). Fiscal affairs: carpenter Pastor died, deduction from monthly salary assigned to Rocha to be suspended; received bando re: procedure to be followed with testamentarias and abintestados of military men; discussion of salary of cura interino Tovar, and officiales.
