Summary
Croix acknowledges receipt of letters re: Indian raids; laments Indian attacks on Visani, Tecoripa and Zaracachi. In letter of March 11, he worries about Apache raid on Terrenate, and hopes for timely solution to these problems. Letter of May 18, approves Pineda's decision to execute captive Indian as example to other enemy Indians. Letter of June 3, states awareness of soldiers' needs; and will attempt to solve them. Letter of October 22, laments Apache attack on Fronteras and Terrenate, but has confidence in Pineda and captains to pacify area. Letter of December 31, deplores Apache attack on missions del Bac and Santa Maria. He eagerly awaits end to these problems. (J. Tapia, July, 1987).
