Correspondence concerning: complaint about lack of generosity of Jesuits in providing horses and trip made by Cuellar to Durango and Chihuahua; also necessity to appoint priest to missions of Sinaloa, Durango and Sonora; detailed description of several attacks by Indians and urgent need to train men in order to create solid troop in Chihuahua, also detailed account of mismanagement of funds in Chihuahua and of profits made from smelting of silver. Correspondence with town council on commerce and mines of Chihuahua regarding need of aid in money, personnel, weapons, and provisions to pursue war against Indian enemies, detailed account of assumed costs of such war for a year.
