Summary
Grimarest informs viceroy of numerous Apache raids in Banamichi, Bacoachi, Cocospera, and Santa Cruz; Apaches kill people and steal horses and cattle in raids. He states that foot Opata auxiliaries are better in combating Apaches than mounted soldiers but that Former are few in numbers. He requests more soldiers. Viceroy responds that expenses for maintaining military personnel is high, and that it is not possible to increase number of soldiers. (J. Tapia, October, 1987)
