Copies. quadernos that deal with Apache lipanes, correspondence of Castro and nava, indians seeking refuge in mission, and in general are presented for the purpose of justifying an increase in troop strength; letter recording attacks by lipanes on livestock; account of how indians and military of area were organized and proceeded to recover livestock and horses stolen by lipanes in valle de Santa Rosa; investigation by lozaya on Apache attacks in san Buenaventura, reports of indian sightings near sandina hacienda; Castro explaining that if his troop strength is not increased he will be forced to seek help of comanches and he is loathe to do that because of inherent difficulties; letter discussing request of increase in troop strength and justifications for same.
