Bringas also expresses concern in getting the Indians married in the church and to forget old customs. Letters concerning the poor working conditions of Indians living and working on the hacienda and attempts to keep the mission Indians from marrying the Lower caste Indians in other pueblos. Mention of the repartamiento of land by the government of Sonora and good agricultural conditions and climat for establishing Spanish families in the Indian pueblos. Includes some ethnograhic data such as drinking habits, clothing ceremonies connected with mission church. Includes documents concerned with both language and religious education of Pame children. Some discussion of cruel and inhumane treatment of Indians working in mines and Mescal factories. Mentions epidemics in 1780, 1785, 1786 and 1789 where large number of Indians died along with such maltreatment as public whipping which resulted in deaths and one woman losing a baby from beating.
