Virrey orders royal meeting to determine responsibilities of Escandon in methods of conquest of new colony, attend to complaints against Escandon; letters from virrey to Palacios and Osorio puts them in charge of investigation, informs them they should write freely; letter from king to virrey telling him he is aware of Escandon situation.
