Summary
Proclamation demanding inhabitants of certain key frontier areas in Sonora adopt numerous defensive measures against the Apache, including congregation of settlements, abandonment of out lying areas, replacement of grass roofs with earthen ones, construction of towers, creation of militias, personal armament, etc. Those refusing such measures faced embargo and sale of their belongings.
