Summary
This is an answer to a petition for more protection on the part of many missionaries in the Santa Fe area. Peace has been enjoyed throughout the pueblos. The Pecos Indians were going to rise up so the gobernador of the Pecos is notified. The Tegua Indians find out that a notice of protection has been issued and go on a horse robbing spree. Diego de Vargas thinks the more men in the presidios the better for without the misiones he believes the Indians will begin to mistrust the Spanish. He is on his way with soldiers to give aid.
