Summary
Juan de Tafoya is accused of treason and sedition. He has allegedly fomented an uprising of the domesticated Indians. Ordered by the governor to surrender himself, he takes refuge in a church. Still at large, Tafoya is further Charged with contempt, being accused of going about the territory, speaking mockingly and attempting to make a jest of the charges against him. The governor sends the declarations and testimony to the viceroy, and places the case in his hands. (Lloyd Kendall) (1980)
