Summary
Gobernador Bustamante commissions Juan Paez Hurtado to find out why Martin Hurtado resigns from alcaldia mayor of Albuquerque leaving the office in hands of sargento mayor Alphonso Rael and seeks sanctuary in the church of San Francisco (Albuquerque). Depositions include account of small Apache campaign. An exchange of letters from Mexico figures into the proceedings as does Former gobernador Valverde.
