EVALUATED AS A GOOD OFFICER. AS OF DEC 31, 1817, HE WAS IN THE FIELD FIGHTING THE INSURGENTS OF THE MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT AND HAD BEEN FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS.
