The writer requests that the members of that same order not attend the proffered surgical classes and not trouble themselves to attend to the patients interned in the city's Royal Hospital. The September 21, 1773 date of the document directs our attention to the role of the clergy in the very political Mexican Medical Licensing Board known as the Protomedicato.
