Abstract
Broadside issued three months after the government of Miguel Miramón occupied Mexico City, and shortly before Benito Juarez, from his government base in Veracruz, issued a degree confiscating church property. McLane was U.S. ambassador to Mexico. Includes several items of information, credited and dated as follows: "H. Veracruz, Julio 2 de 1859 - Ocampo - E.S. governador del Estado de..."; "México, Junio 24 de 1859, D. Manuel Robles, en gefe de la division de Oriente"; "H. Veracruz, Julio 2 de 1859, Francisco de P.
