This is a group of 26 letters, all originals with the autograph of fr. Francisco Iturralde. They are written from various missions to different friars. Some are personal, others are informes. A good number were written to fr. Diego Bringas who was visitator of the missions, and almost all were written on half folios in the manner in which we write letters today. This informe is an answer of the auditor chavarre giving his opinion regarding the cultivation of the land by the Indians converted to the faith, and whether or not they are justified in selling the fruits of their labor. It ends with the words- como lo pide el S. Juan Joseph Gonzalez de Orejon died without making a will. Prior to his death he was in the process of selling an hacienda to Pedro Domingo de Jugo. Joseph Gonzalez de Orejon, uncle and heir of the deceased seeks to complete the sale. He is authorized to do so. de Jugo pays 4,000 pesos for the hacienda, which contains 1,015 pesos worth of cattle. Pedro de Jugo has been renting two haciendas for Augustina de Medina y Costilla, and in doing so paying off an outstanding debt. Cortes del Rey, grandson of Medina y Castilla removes de Jugo, sells cattle and Lets the haciendas fall into disrepair. de Jugo maintains this is unjust and against Medina y Castillas wishes.
