Miguel Angel is arrested for shooting Miguel Hernandez with an arrow. Miguel Angel confesses but says he only did it because Hernandez had attacked him and Brother a few nights earlier with a wood club. Angel to be sold for court costs to slave labor for 8 years. (R. Davis) (1975)

A rather prosaic account of a robbery (of clothes) and assault case. The document is somewhat remarkable, however, in that it appears that the sentence was reversed and the defendant released after being declared not guilty. The original sentence was a fine and court costs. (C. Needham) (1975)

This document contains the record of the charges and resolution of the case of Gregorio, a Criado of Diego de Quiros. Gregorio was convicted of stabbing an Indian twice with a knife. His only excuse is drunkennes - which does not suffice. He is sentenced to three years service in the silver mines, plus monetary payments. A rather lengthy set of documents concerned with the complaint of a Mulatto who charges that two or three Salinero Indians beat him severely about the body with clubs one evening while he was caring for the mules. Juan testifies on behalf of Nicolasa, Indian woman, and Juan Pedro her Husband, that Dona Francisca Espana beat Nicolasa with a club. Testimony of witnesses on both sides. Doctors report on Nicolasas condition. Finally Dona Francisca confesses to her crime - pays 100 pesos. (R. Davis) (1975)

Francisco finds Antonio beaten up and wounded in the Head. Antonio accuses Geronimo, one of the Indian servants. Geronimo captured, jailed and eventually confesses. Sentence against Geronimo is 5 years on a prison farm and a fine of 50 pesos, and 40 pesos for court costs. List of court costs. (R. Davis) (1975)
