Concerns bad conduct of Diaz de Luna in conducting Indian prisoners to Mexico. Employment proposals for Segundo teniente of Nueva Vizcaya and discription of service records of candidates. Concerns financial status of troops with merchants and pending debts. Chaplain Cortes' activities in Alcantara and discussion of his salary, personal services given to him and lack of sinodo. (L. L. Larraurri orders clothes and leaves for Bahia without paying. Creton sends a list of items sold to Larraurri and price of items. Bucareli orders that Larraurri should repay two money advances given to him for travel expenses, and that later he should repay debt from his salary. (J. Tapia, March, 1988)

Lengthy Series of documents about loans made to Ugarte while he was in Spain and others made in Mexico. Loan in Spain needed to pay for travel expenses to Mexico. Loans in Mexico for his expenses to get to Coahuila, and for maintenance of presidios. Mention that Ugarte unable to repay loan due to his small salary and requests an increase. Several documents are from his creditors trying to recover money from real hacienda. some creditors request interest on loans. Many of the letters are from civil officials verifying loans and seeking ways to repay them. Finally, loans are paid by the royal treasury, and Ugarte thanks viceroy for covering loans and asks for a copy of this transaction. (J. Tapia, March, 1988)

Letters deal with punishing two soldiers by transferring them to Nueva Vizcaya; one punished for leaving troop without permission. Most documents discuss money advances to soldiers for trip. Repayment should be taken out of their salaries, and soldiers should pay some interest on loan. Discussion of new appointments in Babia and Carrizal. (J. Tapia, March 1988)

Concerns arrest of Zosaya and account of his debts. Refers to papers regarding the trial and supporting documents which conde says have been proven to be false. Vaamonde sends virrey account of expenses incurred in military campaign waged by flying company of Lampazos (ff. 140-141). Letters in triplicate of Vaamonde's request to be promoted to Coronel de Infanteria. Mentions prison revolt at Guadalajara in 1783 (ff. 144-160). Vecinos of Monterrey request to be excused from various military duties such as conduccion de reos y Alas de Cordillera, salidas de Mariscadas y vigilar la carcel (ff. 161-164). Guerra, Vecino de Pesqueira Chica writes comandante (ff. 165-170).

A Series of letters primarily from Lacomba to Ugalde but also from others concerning matters affecting the tercera compania record and invalid status of Paredes and Buedo, requests to leave the company for a meeting, requests to fill vacancies, transfer of money to Ugalde, inquiries into arrival and late arrival of documents, clemency for 2 deserters, unfounded rumors of Indian attacks, the number of horses and mules at his disposal, Ugaldes disposition to expel all those who seek retirement before an imminent campaign, the difficulty in conducting a census among a hostile Indian population, Puga's desire to have his two sons serve in the adjoining companies, a dubious Tale of a Lipanes Indian attack told to him, reports of armament inventory, adverse affect of Weather on agricultural production in his area, prosecution of deserters, orders permitting the virrey special powers, use of a civilian at a military outpost in a mission, debts owed among the troops, capture of two Indians and transfer to Ugalde, conflict between two soldiers that had been quelled, promotions of Errera, Soto, and Cossio and the resulting vacancies and salary raises.
