Moraya (with witnesses Figueroa and Basques) acts as interrogator in case against Arbizo and Tapia, accused of drowning to death a gentile Indian. Incident occurred September 27, 1783 on ranches of San Jose de Guadalupe. Indian legends, accused of robbing cornfield, was bound and taken by accused. Indian's corpse showed signs of beating. 15-20 Indians responded with bows and arrows with intent to kill Tapia and his brothers. Two accused receive 25 lashings. (J. Hiller, December 1988)

A series of letters that discuss: appointments by Gobernador Bucareli of Canales, Valles, and Concha to alferez and alcalde ordinario, alcalde ordinario ordinario, and alcalde ordinario respectively; the death of Jesus Lacedor when he became lost in the fields on December 22, 1779 and need for quadruplication of paperwork in order to certify his death administratively; trip being made by Melchor de Lorca to the capital to see Bucareli in order to defend his honor; relieving Melchor de Lorca as gobernador and installing Gonzales Santianez; Vidal de Lorca defending his honor and presenting authorized certification for his sake and the sake of his children; receipt of above letter and certifications (not included) and their submittal to the royal auditor; authority given to Verridi to relieve Vidal de Lorca of his duties and asks for Vidal de Lorca's peaceful cooperation. A Series of letters between Vaamonde and conde de Revilla Spanish declaring war on French and administration of missions, change of personnel in first secretary post from conde de Aranda to duque de Alcudia, a legal petition sent to king on behalf of Castro where Vaamonde and virrey conde de Revilla Gigedo were involved administratively, orders from virrey to Vaamonde to dedicate himself to defense matters and delegate some of his responsibilities to Nava after conducting a complete inspection of troops. A Series of letters from Valdes to Vaamonde concerning the request that the soldiers Moya and Munoz appear before him to testify on Dufay's contention that he gave 224 pesos to the Indians of mission of San Christoval in order to pacify them, the testimonies of the aforementioned soldiers that corroborate the events as related by Dufay, Rodrigues' witnessing efforts at pacification by Dufay in 1787, testimony of Munoz that established Indian Lorenzo as being the original recipient of the money in question and he was supposed to distribute the money, a report filed with mayor Gomes which Valdes is now requesting, the conclusion of testimonies on this matter and, a copy of the testimony of Gomes de Castro. A Series of letters between Vaamonde and the virrey out an execution when in his area there was no official execution by using a Former Negro slave to perform the execution, orders for Vaamonde to travel to Punto de Lamparos, decree prohibiting Indians from leaving their homes unless they have necessary papers from district judge, parrish priest, or minister of documents, Vaamonde's deteriorating health during trip to Punto de lamparaos and subsequent rehabilitation in saltilo, compliance with an order to determine status of any peace initiatives with Indians of the area, the terms of any peace agreements and manner in which Indians have abided by said agreements, complying with order to make Nava inspector in addition to his current rank as comandante general and brigadier.
