Because of health problems requests transfer to Spain, not Guadalajara. Discussion of Codina's salaries and turning over projects to Pagazaurtundua for completion. Night of February 19, 1785 20 Indians entered province by way of Santa Rita killing 3 muleteers; his promotion to brigadier; Fato's request two mortars be placed at Mamulique to deter attacks; Cueto be paid back wages in order to return to Spain to settle estate of dead Brother. Letter welcoming new virrey conde de Galbez. Summary
Acknowledges royal orders re: change Indians' tribute status at age 18; governor's control over estate (inheritance) tax and sail cloth sales tax; promoting hemp, flax cultivation. Discussion of new converts at misiones: Concepcion, Purificacion, and San Chrystoval, San Miguel--latter having few neophytes and low subsistence thus relieved of tribute. San Miguel defended against depredations by Tlaxcalteco cavalry and archers. Discussion of nitrate mine reestablishment in valle de Guaxuco (no other in province), royal orders concerning benefits and nitrate valuation as per assayed and costs of extraction-transport. A series of letters that discuss: appointments by Gobernador Bucareli of Canales, Valles, and Concha to alferez and alcalde ordinario, alcalde ordinario ordinario, and alcalde ordinario respectively; the death of Jesus Lacedor when he became lost in the fields on December 22, 1779 and need for quadruplication of paperwork in order to certify his death administratively; trip being made by Melchor de Lorca to the capital to see Bucareli in order to defend his honor; relieving Melchor de Lorca as gobernador and installing Gonzales Santianez; Vidal de Lorca defending his honor and presenting authorized certification for his sake and the sake of his children; receipt of above letter and certifications (not included) and their submittal to the royal auditor; authority given to Verridi to relieve Vidal de Lorca of his duties and asks for Vidal de Lorca's peaceful cooperation. Summary
A Series of letters between Vaamonde and conde de Revilla Spanish declaring war on French and administration of missions, change of personnel in first secretary post from conde de Aranda to duque de Alcudia, a legal petition sent to king on behalf of Castro where Vaamonde and virrey conde de Revilla Gigedo were involved administratively, orders from virrey to Vaamonde to dedicate himself to defense matters and delegate some of his responsibilities to Nava after conducting a complete inspection of troops.
