Summary
Concerns Vidal de Lorca and remittances of income from tobacco; intendente of Potosi asks for clarification of order that would have Leon and Santander send his locality remittances from tobacco and taxes to his treasury, feels this move is unadvised; ff. 0528 is illegible; second ff. Of illegible letter mentions the possible hoarding, shortages and bottlenecks that may result due to order aforementioned, that Parras and Saltillo send remittances to Durango; troops are not paid on monthly Basis but rather the avilitado receives funds for his company 6 months in advance; letter expressing sentiment that revenue will be deposited locally instead of sent to the real hacienda for the sake of efficiency; order to intendente telling him to send sums needed to provinces monthly instead of every six months so that surplus of assets will not build because of the possibilities of these assets being corrupted if they are there in large numbers; mentions the conflict of interests between the troops and the avilitados of the revenue accounts as it relates to a more timely remittance of funds, ff 0533 illedgible. Response to unidentified indian hostilities; military rolls which give totals of personnel in companies in area, weapons that they possess and mission, in this case being attacks on indians of Benito, pantaleon, comoteros, mariguanes, sanaquais, and pacitas; virrey tells conde de la sierragorda that in the future he is to communicate with comandante general before he undertakes an expedition against indians; mayordomo of hacienda requests and receives troop protection after pacitas steal horses from his hacienda, once there troops encountered several indian groups in the area and recovered somne of the livestock; seeks to establish missions in area in order to help pacify indians of area and exploit mines of areas to their fullest. Summary
A Series of letters primarily between Vidal de Lorca and Bucareli y Ursua that discuss the role of Verridi in supervising Vidal de Lorca's duties as gobernador and a request for his cooperation, contributions that are made by the Hacendados towards the protection of this area from hostile forces, answer to a letter by Vidal de Lorca in which he expresses doubts about the royal fifth as it pertains to gold leaving the churches and Bucareli tells him that the churches are not exempt and that in the future questions such as these should be addressed to the royal advisor, a guarantor (Diez de Sollano) for the house that Vidal de Lorca was using in his role of governor, Galvez making duplicates of a representation of a royal audience, Vidal de Lorca's situation of being relieved as governor without pay and his request for the intercession of Mayorga (the new virrey) in this matter, and Vidal de Lorca's military service record up until his last post of gobernador del Nuevo Reyno de Leon.
