Calleja verifies said illness and approves request for retirement. Doctor Covarrubiastestifies to Vedia y Pinto's illness and describes it as callos de los Pies. F. 211 mentions Gomez de Castro's campaign against Mescales and the groin injury he suffered in that campaign. Due to said injury Gomez de Castro requests retirement with right of Fuero militar and use of uniform. Calleja remarks that injury is unverified and retirement not approved. (P. Lenz, may 1990)
