Several contradictions appear in this document. Ygnacia Josefa Alarcon becomes Maria Josefa Alarcon. It originally appeared that she is Tarahumara. However, she is now said to be Coyota de Culiacan. At one point (235) Martin de Hierro says both are indios. Later (236) Jose Miguel Molina says he is de Calidad espanol. At any Rate, both parties make peace- fray Juan Jose Lozano being the intermediary Juan Miguel Molina and Ignacia (Maria) Josefa Alarcon are given 3,000.00 pesos, to be paid over a period of 3 Months, by Joaquin de Rosas. Ignacio Josefa de Alarcona, on behalf of her incompetent Husband (espanol) and 9 minor daughters claims Joaquin Rosas owes her 4 bars of the Mina Todos Santos. She says an indio Juan Nicolas told her of a mine. She in turn told her Husband who promptly found it, along with Jose elojo Andrade (Defunto). Her Husband then gives the mine to Rosas in exchange for some material goods (listed in document), keeping 4 bars for his wife. Rosas never lived up to the terms of the agreement. His counsel cites the royal decree that no mine can be reclaimed after 90 days and that no court Inferior to the rey can rule otherwise. The juezes of Batopilas, however continue to hear the case, despite the fact that the tribunal de Mineria had upheld the ruling that only the rey could decide the case. Domingo de Bordemba seeks to take over the mines and haciendas of Rafael Alonso de Pastrana because of an unpaid debt of 31, 140 pesos 5.5 reales. In an earlier case Francisco de Aguilar evidently lost possession of a mine. He is now appealing the decision, through Sebastian del Este, then Andres Gonzalez, to the king. He claims new testimony shows that the old testimony was false and he is not guilty. Alonso de Ontiveros applies for authorization to open a mine-hacienda for silver in San Diego. A citizens group led by Juan Martin Lineros and Guasan Guesrico protest saying the claim includes a spring which the many citizens need for water. They protest to governor Enrique Davila y Pacheco and a hearing is held. In the end Alonso gets to open his mine anyway. (R. Davis) (1975)

In the early part of this Series alfarez Diego Monse files for legal claim to a mine he discovered. Alonso del Contreros opposes Diego claiming his Father owned the territory. The case was decided in Diego's favor. Later, in the 1660's concern over legal ownership is again at issue and Gaspar Rodriguez presses his claim to the mine by claiming relationship to Diego Monse.
