Summary
Mostly dull legal, repetitive material but useful perhaps for tracing chronological process of testimony and defense of the Jesuit missions. Marmolejo's Father in 1735 borrowed sum to establish sheep hacienda. Proceedings include tracing profits from that time and past due of interest and Principal. Decision made to embargo Marmolejo's effects and entrust them to third party until final decision. Marmolejo disappears and when authorities appear at his home to enforce this, his wife informs them she knows nothing of his whereabouts nor the effects. They are informed that Marmolejo will only appear in presence of impartial men whom he trusts. This condition guaranteed, he provides information on hacienda's economic status, his inheritance; strongly insisting he has complied with known obligations. Decision made against him. He has two years to pay debt of 1407 pesos to get his effects back. Armesto writes letter of appreciation to officials for expediting claim for welfare of missions. (J. M. Johnson, August 1989)

Lopez de Toledo describes inventory of Loreto warehouse and lack of sufficient supplies for California missions and presidios. Purchases ordered by superiors, transportation schedules. Stresses need for more money to provision expeditions to Monterrey and San Diego, refers to Galvez 1768 recommendations to remedy scarcity of supply; improve agricultural production and sheep production for meat and wool for clothing. Detailed information on mission assets, names of justicias in charge of assets, categorized into animal types. Notes certain missions that have no Indians but significant assets, others that have many Indians but shortage of supplies. Current accounts of Indians in missions; 19 missions total, listed by location; 17 tribes represented in missions, listed according to christianos, Gentiles, gender, adult or child. Alcantara is only mission without own priest, is having church built with real hacienda funds. Vidal de Lorca mentions details of redistribution of assets among missions (mentioned also in ff. 0065-0077). (O. Summary
Letter from Valladolid to virrey informing him of the Diezmos collected in the Rio Verde missions, who the administrators of haciendas are, and the amount of money received in the year 1773 and 1774. An account is sent from Guadalaxara to the virrey on the Diezmos for Nuevo Reyno de Leon. In another letter Noriega writes the virrey giving an accounting of Diezmos from 1770 and the name of the administrator of hacienda. The governor of Nuevo Santander answers the virrey saying he will respect the the territorial divisions of the church. The royal Caxas de San Luis Potosi are notified from Belena to charge the derecho de Mesada to the Linares parish. Belena, the auditor for the virrey, appears to make most of the decisions, hiring persons to make the maps, hire scribes and investigators in the establishment of the new bishopric and cathedral for the Nuevo Reyno de Leon. Summary
Official hacedores give virrey a history of past royal decrees related to Diezmos for the years 1544 to 1769 for the abbey of panuco. Areche gives information on the instructions for collection of Diezmos for the construction of the cathedral and report in October 20, 1774 of a royal meeting of fiscales on the progress made in establishing the new bishoric. Archbishop of Mexico reports to the virrey that he will obey his request to send his part of Diezmos for the establishment of the bishopric. Reales Caxas de San Luis Potosi and the bishop of Michoacan acknowledge tehir part in collection of Diezmos for the new bishopric. (D. Bautista, January 1990)

Letters from gobernador of Monterrey explaining the problems of collection of Diezmos in the jurisdiction and inconvenience of of placing the new Obispado in Linares. Letters from Gonzalez de Santianes requesting information about the collection of Diezmos and in the other proposing a change in the methods of collection. Letters from Barverena to Santianes about the collecting of Diezmos in the jurisdiction of San Salvador and Huasteca misions. Vargas sends to jueces hacedores of the Obispado of Valladolid, information about the jurisdiction of Rio Verde and a list of parajes y rancherias.
