Bustamente needs supplies to repair presidio. He suggests two of his nephews for newly vacated positions under his command. Bustamente is in ill health, requests retirement at earliest possible convenience; Fayni submits letter assuring virrey that Bustamente is ill and should be retired. Munoz fills position at Julimes vacated by promotion of Gil to captain of Buenaventura. Munoz request his back salary so he can payoff his debt and maintain his soldiers. Presidios of Julimes, Cerrogordo, San Saba, and Santa Rosa are combined into presidio de la junta de los Rios del Norte y Conchos. Gil is unable to inform virrey about establishment of missions due to his distance from them, and short time he has been there. Munoz requests retirement to Reynosa due to illness with grade of Coronel, and salary of teniente Coronel. (D. Marksz, March 1987).
