Thomas Murgia is promoted for his valor- with 16 soldiers he fought 1300 Comanches and Jumanes and put them to flight. He killed 5 Indians and lost one soldier, whose widow is given a pension of 8 dollars a month for as long as she is unmarried. (P. Hayes) (1977)
