Discusses Sonora's Indian problems. Asks that second compania volante be provisioned to continue war against Apaches. Notes constant problem runaway Indians taking refuge in mountains to enjoy depraved and licentious customs. Mentions Indians' inconstancy, probability new uprising will include nearly all the Pimas Bajos, many of the (Pimas) Altos, and perhaps some from other nations. Describes ease Indians moved to rebel. States roots trouble still in mountains, including Seri chief Marcos, Suaqui Rancheria. Since Suaquis, Sebubapas, especially Seris, plant very little. Pessimistic about permanent reduction Indians, even with rations. Proposes to send all conquered males over twelve to Havana, women, children to California. Cerro Prieto mountains noted as stronghold. If such policy carried out, infantry could retire to Altar, presidio, first compania volante reform. (T. Sheridan, 1976)

Summary
Relays Buenavista presidio commandant Lumbrera's warning impending rebellion of Yaquis Allied with Pimas. States Pimas Altos Caborca mission acting in bad faith, waiting for chance to return to old way of life. Such unrest hinders war against Apaches, because Pimas Altos best auxiliary troops. Despite need to campaign against Apaches, feels Altar presidio must be maintained full strength to observe restless Pimas, guard Cieneguilla placers. Apparently no manpower to spare from Pitic, Buenavista presidios, because of necessity guarding port Guaymas (20 man detachment there). Fusileros de Montana not mounted, compania volante reforming. Sonoran forces evidently occupied entirely with internal matters, unable to assist Apache campaign. (T. Sheridan, 1976)

Summary
Fueros discusses status of Placeres at Cieneguilla and problems with hostile Indians causing people not to want to live there. Recounts in detail attacks on mercaderes at nearby Paraje and on men grazing horses and mules (which were stolen). Fears united uprising of Indians and recommends removal of certain Indian groups. Draft letters from viceroy(?) Interspersed with letters. Fueros sends to real Caxa de los Alamos shipments of gold for royal fifth; relaciones for shipments included. Reports on status of production from Placeres and Indian workers. Fueros mentions visit to Altar to See Oconor who was there inspecting troops. Letter from Crespo to viceroy concerning troubles Indians causing in region. Military efforts to defend against Indians and punish them discussed. Fueros named capitan de infanteria. (S. Also mentions continuing problems with Apaches and suspension of monthly campaigns against them. Describes Indians clearing asequias to irrigate crops.
