Corrales' believes behavior warrants Guemes' expulsion from village, even provincia; includes testimonios, letters from teniente y justicia mayor, others village residents, vouching for Corrales' observations; Sierragorda orders Guemes into custody of captain Serna, who will punish him justly. Numero 22 concerns claim made by teniente de justicia that administrador de Alcavalas has used position to inherit valuable 'alhajas' from deceased 'tio,' official of the real; teniente addresses complaint to virrey, as governor off fighting Indians; 'alhajas' were to be given to Senora Garza, whom official planned to marry. In 23, Quixas requests 'licencia' to leave company for short while and travel to Mexico City; offers history of loyal military service, participation in campaigns, in defense of solicitation. In 24, Hoz, captain whom Lasaga says served province, country well defending citizens against Chichimecos, others, requests permission from governor and virrey to return to Spain because of poor health. In 25, 2 Indians, anacana and Aretin, escape from San Juan de Ulua, are referred to by Lasaga as 'desertores...y notoriamente perversos.' (L. Kerr, June 1989)

Wife of deceased governor petitioned not to be deprived of personal items. List of soldiers from presidios to be assisted with stolen money given. Series of testimonies explaining details of what kind of abuses were committed by Alcalde Baez, who forced hacendados to pay, each, one soldier for defense of real de Vallecillos. Hacendados complain that Baez took animals and money from them to benefit himself. Testimonies are taken from people who were affected by abusive behavior from Alcalde Baez. Report concerns primarily mines of Chihuahua, Santa Eulalia, Cosiguriachi, Parral. Gives total, annual silver production 1703 to 1791 in Santa Eulalia, 1731 to 1791 in Chihuahua. Discusses peso value of silver, distances between mines, other places; history of founding of Santa Eulalia, including names of all duenos with list of assets of each. Autos reveal Puga's having whipped women; the murder of his wife by Indians; burning of Escandon by Tanambres; Indian theft of food, horses ,and cattle; Puga's peace discussions with Indians and their reply that they wanted war and subsequent battle and massacre of over 32 Tanambres by Puga's detachment; Puga's debts to vecinos; Puga's murder of Indian; Puga's settlement in Aguayo with family and opinions of Puga as capitan. Missionary of Villa de Croix excommunicates ministro de justicia, Zamora, for crime against Josepha Maldonado. Josepha, daughter of Jose Maldonado, is victim of beating and injuries. Missionary Arocha is accused of bringing married woman, cadenas, to church one night and her Husband has thus left her. Cadena woman's testimony explains that she went to missionary's house because of injuries received after her fight with Josepha Maldonado; Zamora said Josepha should be punished. Arecho requests account of happenings from missionary and that Zamora be absolved. Gossip from vecinos told to priest against Zamora; questioning as to where Josepha lived, and her forced removal from her Father's house. Both Rios and Zamora absolved. (L. L. Woodward, October 1988)
