Letter from Cancio to viceroy in regard to attack on new puerto of Guaimas by group of Indians who stole horses and killed an old Guaima Indian. Naming of Lumbreras to take over defense of new installations and protect construction personnel. Doubtful discovery of having established port in wrong area; Cancio sends person by canoe to explore, depth measure harbor to be sure that construction was in right place as discovered by sea. Letters from governor to viceroy questioning transfer. Problems arise about salary adjustment and taxes paid. Cueto stationed in Habana due to dissolving of company.
