Obispo of Monterrey accused gobernador Baamonde of using Ramos to exigir derechos indevidamente y vender la justicia. Obispo tries to remove Ramos by insisting that he be reunited with his wife in Pilon. Baamonde instead brings wife to Monterrey and allows both to live at his house. Those investigating case find it difficult to determine if there is any secret intelligence between Baamonde and Ramos. (D. Marksz, October 1987)

Cumanches are maintaining peace with Spanish; but Lipanes and Cumanches have not tried to make peace with each other.
