Galvez notes Yaqui migrants to Baja as miners, pearlers. Discusses progress of Elizondo expedition and states that the junta de guerra decided, as inviolable principio, that lives of rebels would be spared only if they surrendered of their own free will. Need T assure Crisanto, Seri followers who surrendered at Pitic that their safety is assured as long as they are loyal. Grants pardon to Pima who surrender at Pitic. Pimas Altas who wish to reduce themselves enlist Valdez as intermediary. Pardon issued on may 8, 1769. Discusses rebellion among Indians of Rio Fuerte. 800 Yaquis volunteer to fight Fuerte rebels as proof of their loyalty. Seris under Marcos not to be attacked because they've committed no hostilities since Galvez published his pardon. (T. Sheridan) (1980)

2 Indian women prisoners asked Series of 16 questions concerning rebels. Answers- 1) favorite rebel refuge Cajon de los mopales; 2) Cerro Prieto composed of 4 canyons; necessary to use ladders to get in and out; 3) Seritaca reputed dead of wounds; 4) never resided at Aquimuricuta; 5) rebels built defensive Trincheras in Nopalera and la Palma; 6) Seris, Suaquis have no captives, only Piatos; 7) never saw rebel loot; 8) rebel warriors number 400 sin entrar los muchachones y viejos-more than 200 Piatos, 60 Suaquis, all busy making arrows; 9) rebels observe Spanish movements from high hills, especially above Cajon de Tituit; 10) boyjatore seriously wounded; 11) Suaquis in Cerro Prieto; 12) few rebel horses left- most eaten; 13) Suaquis they lived with afraid to surrender; rest they don't know about porque no Vivian Todos Juntos ni Se comunicaban; 14) all rebels knew of arrival of troops at Guaymas; 15) know nothing of Chepillo; 16) Suaquis only in Cerro Prieto. Summary
Three Sisimbres Indians and 2 of their wives escape in 1748 from the Pueblo of Conchos. Captain Berroteran of the Conchos presidio, fearing they will stir up trouble among the unreduced Indians, runs them down and apprehends them at a Rancheria between Conchos and Coahuila. The rebels then ordered taken to Durango and Gabriel escapes, Matheo Dies in the attempt and Aguilar is finally taken to justice in Durango. (T. Naylor) (1977)
