Copy of letter from Manuel Rodriguez (ff. 72-76) to viceroy discussing weapons, and information on troops. Copy requested by Francisco Rodriguez. Followed by 5 blank pages. Letter from V. Rodriguez to viceroy that briefly discusses his own career as captain of the presidio (ff. 79). States that Manuel Rodriguez I his Brother. V. Rodriguez ordered to appoint position of tenencia del Rio Grande as he sees fit. Another letter discusses troops at presidio, status of nearby missions, activities of personnel and Indians, and visita general of the presidio. Documents from tribunal de Cuentas concerning captain of Carrizal presidio, Narciso Muniz, request for one-third of his salary be sent to his wife Catalina Marchan to move from Madrid to Mexico City. Documents include records of Muniz' military service, presidial finances, and similar Cases involving officers at presidios of Buenaventura and San Savas. Records indicate Muniz retired to Ciempozuelos, Spain. (G. Lavalley, November 1986).

Collection of documents dealing with group of tahuacan Indians who request permission to travel to Mexico City to petition viceroy for a Spanish settlement on Rio Colorado near their people. Much discussion back and forth before permission is granted.
