Series of letters between Vaamonde and conde virrey concerning: Vaamonde's petition for promotion and his request for clarification of its status, virrey's response that no definitive decision can be made until proceedings into alleged misconduct of vaamonde are completed, virrey's assurance that he will not be the one to make judgement on the proceedings, a request for an audience with the virrey in order to defend himself against the accusations, acknowledgement of the receipt of a decree concerning where applications for deeds should be made and his intention to have it made known to all those in his jurisdiction. A Series of letters from and to the governador of Nuevo Leon, Manuel Vaamonde, and the virrey of Nuevo Leon which discuss and an account named fraudes del herario and to foward these orders as well as talk of involving the judiciary in this matter, receipt of a royal edict not to commence the, ramos de R.tas, order prohibiting sales transactions that do not verify the purchasers true identity, an inspection made by Gutierrez and documents handed over to him at that time, the Former virreys orders to have a military company in Nuevo Leon ship their armaments to another company having a campaign; hostility between civil and military officials expressed in the following manner - he is my captain but in name only. Series of gubernatorial documents primarily consisting of notifications of receipt of various vandos, letters, Ordenes, copies of documents, etc., not all of which have corresponding documents present, and indexes of correspondence for 1777; some letters include request for more arms to fight Indians and protect vecinos, and list weapons desired; one letter regards Indians killing son and grandson of justicia de la Villa de Laredo who had killed an Indian before; two vandos (not present) acknowledged as received on prohibition of sowing, 3% al tiempo de quintarse; one letter notifies virrey that Echeagaray is setting out to visit populations of Sierra Madre and reconocer los Terrenos senalados para pueblos de indios en su cordillera. Summary
Continuation of correspondence with gobernador of Nuevo Santander. Includes account of Indian attack against Villa San Juan involving many deaths and theft of livestock and furniture. Brutality of attack prompts execution of Indians captured during raid, and orders by Rubio to immediately punish Indians in the field if caught raiding Spanish settlements. Protocol for monthly inspection of troops issued by Rubio, with long Series of replies from military commanders of each guarnicion following. Also includes tables of troop strength at various Villas in Nuevo Santander. Concludes with correspondence concerning the naming of Gonzalez Santianes as new gobernador. (A. Tukey, August 1989)

Summary
Repetitive Series of letters from gobernadores of Nuevo Santander concerning routine administrative and military affairs. Includes documents concerning naming of Gonzalez Santianes to replace Ruvio as gobernador of Nuevo Santander. Should be given fabrica de iglesias and enforcement of payment of Diezmos, greater efforts towards converting Indians, need to treat Indians kindly and only punish in fair proportion to crimes committed. Includes repetitous Series of reports of horse theft by Indians against towns in Sierra Tamaulipas. Summary
Correspondence in which Urresti communicates news worthy of virrey's attention, concerning missions under his command, at nearby mission, suspected by Urresti of only seeking relief from viral epidemic decimating nation, Piedracitos request same at other mission, duplicitous intentions suspected also, quiet, peaceful behavior of Indians at another mission noted, participation in 'cosecha de Frutos' also peaceful, military skirmishes along Rio Blanco involving Indians discussed, establishment of 'las Pazes' per virrey's 'mandato'; letters from virrey commenting on, commending, actions taken by Urresti, approving request by interim governor of Coahuila for 50 soldiers, ordering that silver, though in 'corta cantidad', continue to be mined at Yguana, informing of 'insultos' from siguis(?); letter concerning 'quadernos' containing information on Munoz y Villavicencio's conduct in office.
