Summary
Vaamonde tries to explain that his marriage was not consummated (he never lived with Maria Trevino) but just a provisional contract subjected to obtaining the official license. Therefore, he asks the sentence against him to be obeyed but not executed, allowing him to finish his regular period as a governor. His petitions are rejected and the new governor, Simon de Herrera, is urged to assume his functions. In the last document of this group, Vaamonde reports that his wife has just died. (A. Nielsen, October 1989)

Summary
Letter from Bonilla to the viceroy communicating the Orden real whereby Vaamonde is designated gobernador of the Nuevo Reino de Leon due to the death of Gonzalez de Santianez. Prior to assuming the post, Vaamonde has to pay his debt with the real hacienda. Vaamonde asks to be discounted half of his salary as gobernador until the debt is liquidated. His request is accepted. Later, during the investigations motivated by the accusations of corruption raised against Vaamonde, the real hacienda is asked concerning the situation of this debt which, by 1795, was already liquidated.
