Military rolls-payrolls for compania presidaria and compania de Caballeria for January, February, April 1783 including dates of service, duty station, promotions, vacancies, leaves, collection of money incorrectly printed '1872', promotions to Alferez, Lipanes Indian raid of February 12, 1783. 30 Lipanes, guided by an Indian from provincia, stole 20 mules, 10 horses and killed one Boy, escaping with one casualty through mountains near Saus, Coahuilla though pursued by squad from compania presidaria and Salinas milicias. On northern frontier Indians (unspecified) have killed 25 and stole stock escaping. (J. Higgins February 1989)

F. 171 is Superior orders received by Corbalan from the viceroy for November - December , 1773. Ff. 181-182 are representations directed to viceroy by intendente for December , 1773 to February, 1774. Viceroy advised that Corbalan will travel to Rio Hiaqui to resolve Bucareli for March 1774. Administrative correspondence of intendente Corbalan, primarily brief commentary on ongoing communication between him and viceroy as summarized in the superiores Ordenes and representaciones. Viceroy's responses, dated several months later, directly follow intendente's comments/inquiries. Ff. 81 reorganization of intendency, intendente's duties and salary; distribution of land, water rights, irrigation and religious education of Seris on Tiburon. Ff. 84-86 relate death of governor Sastre, execution of his will (Albacea), and responsibility of real Casa to determine amount of king's fifth on a gold nugget found in his possession. Ff. 94-95 are taxes on tobacco, playing cards and gunpowder; salaries for religious from Jalisco serving in Sonora; collection of tribute from Indians; need for better accounting for collecting royal fifth on ore mined in province; scarcity of Moneda sellada in circulation; and status of crops, workshops and personnel assigned to Indians in reduccion. Ff. 122-123 is certificate of death of Alfonso Ruiz Zorzano. Other documents briefly general of mines to be postponed due to illness and bad Weather; reduccion of Hiaques on Tiburon, recommends pardon of capitan Calisto for good behaviour, after involvement in uprising; gold nugget of Sastre not found among his possessions. Ff. 136 & 138 are superiores Ordenes from Bucareli for February-March, 1773. Ff. 142-144 are representacions of intendente to viceroy for April-June, 1773 which include fishing; rebuilding mission churches in Suaqui and Charay and completion of irrigation (acequia) for Seris in Pitic. Discourse between the governor of Sonora and the viceroy concerning various matters of provincial administration as to absent viceregal proclamations concerning issuance of new coinage, mail franchises, and announcement of birth of Infante Carlos Clemente (ff. 309-315). Concerning gubernatorial visita Colonel of provincial militias of Pardos y Blancos of several jurisdictions to Juan Antonio Caneda, Vecino of Rosario; brief letter, written at Mazatlan stating that, Sastre, as governor, will protect and give assistance to missionaries, destroy abuses committed against Indians... etc. Letters written at Culiacan and Alamos discuss order to send viceroy intendente Corbalan's financial account of military expedition of Sonora; response to viceroy's order that said intendente make visita of mines of province; formation of flying company under command of O'Conor to put down Indian unrest in Chihuahua (See below); governor's suggestion that if Indian named Calixto does not mend his rebellious ways, then prison sentence be considered (315-335). Letters written at Horcasitas discuss governor's order stating that copy of letters from presidial commanders be sent directly to viceroy (336,337). Sastre suffers stroke effecting right arm and leg (339,340). Notice of departure of Mule train under military escort from Cieneguilla bound for Mexico City, route taken, instructions for military escort, etc. (341,342; 345-349; 361,362).
