Correspondence between oficials in Alamos, gobernador Corbalan and comandante Croix concerning various forms of aid which should be given to the Rivera expedition to California. Details given on status of recruitment of soldiers and settlers from Sonora (24 families, 59 soldiers); numbers reported for different dates. Rivera urgently requests action for daily expenses, horses, riding gear. Great detail on clothing requirements for each man, woman, child. Talks of calamity if food supplies of beans, corn, dried meat don't reach embittered settlers suffering hardships. Ruiz account lists Actual expenditures for individual daily needs, including food, health, horses, salaries. Payment suspended to deserter. Correspondence is between gobernador militar Ugarte and comandante general de Croix about the 1781 military expedition of Rivera y Moncada escorting recruits and settlers from Sonora California deserters granted amnesty to families and list of places of residence of their families. Summary
Letters from Arredondo to the provincias of Sonora, Durango, and San Luis Potosi ordering them to mantain regularity in the payments of the soldiers in order to avoid desertions. Arredondo uses example of the desertion of Fernandez. Fernandez argues that he did not receive cloth from the military. The sentence given by Arredondo for Fernandez is that he has to work with grilletes in the construction of the presidio and those soldiers who have more then two desertions should be sent to Veracruz to the first permanent batallon. The comandantes Arredondo and Garcia notice of the bad conditions of the troops with respect of supplies. (D. Bautista, June 1990)

Summary
Autos accusing Casimiro of desertion. All soldiers who knew who knew Casimiro were interrogated for the reasons of his desertion. Casimiro is questioned and states that the only article he ever received from the military was a shirt. It is recommended that he be given a royal pardon. (D. Bautista, June 1990)

Summary
This Series of documents is related to the preceding folios. Autos accusing Contreras of desertion. Contreras also escapes with Burciaga and another soldier. Contreras was captured and brought to jail in San Pablo cuartel. In questioning Contreras he says he escaped because he did not have anybody to make food for him. Fiscales suggest virrey pardon him.
