Summary
Seris called menos Mala, y la que Mas ha sido castigada of all rebels. 114 Seris killed, captured since June of 1768. Many Seris asking for peace. Notes surrender, pardon of capitan Crisanto. Crisanto states many Seris wish to make peace but are so dispersed it is difficult to get them together. Seris tired of life of constant danger, afraid of Spanish troops since attack on Palma canyon. Marcos described as el principal leader of Seris. Elizondo argues that although it would be best to exterminate rebels, their tactic of dispersing into small groups make such a task virtually impossible. States if Seris had been treated justly in first place, they may not have rebelled. Claims they were enslaved by los expulsos (Jesuits) and had most reason of all rebels to rebel. Notes that since Seris first to rebel, they're blamed for hostilities committed by other rebels. States Seris menos ynumana, y la que menos y mbasions ha hecho en la Provincia de ostimury. Notes that reduced Seris can be used as guides against Suaquis and Pimas. (T. Sheridan) (1980)

Summary
Reports of moco raids around Nuevo Santander. Primera compania and civilian Posse go after Indians in Sierra de Tamaulipa, kill most they find, but take one woman and one child in chaingang. Justicia de Aguayo attacks ranch of friendly Chichimecos, killing most, imprisoning some; results in uprising of 300 peaceful Indians in reduccion at Croix, who kill 4 citizens of Croix then raid Santillana. Virrey condemns action as stupid, endangering peace treaties with most other tribes. Suggests total campaign by all milicias of province, as military alone can not fight so many. (A. Dean, Jul 1990)

Serna asks Revilla Gigedo for help from segunda compania against Indians, promises results within year. Serna assesses Tamaulipa area as rich prospect for Mineral resources, livestock, year-round agriculture near coast, fishing. (O. Velez, March 1990)

Summary
Series of documents concerning the discovery of two Indian nations. Series of autos interrogating 15 military persons on the exploration of the Anays and Caddudachos area. Gobernador Theran wants an explanation of the retreat of the troops from a battle with the Anays. He also seeks to know if the missions can be continued with the religious and the possibility of reducing the Indians. All answers suggest the Anays are dangerous and the Caddudachos are friendly.
