Virrey Accedes to matute's request for more sick leave, but later orders matute to report for duty at Tepic when it is discovered that he went to guanajuato without virrey's permission. (J. H. Hijosa, comisario de San Blas applies to virrey to determine if surgeons of departamento are subject to civil authority (comisario), or to military authority (comandante). Virrey determines that these medicos are under military authority when at sea, and under civilian authority when on land. Also included are documents concerning altercation between teniente Melendez and Ferron, surgeon at San Blas. Also, Hijosa requests that virrey reprimand Pava and Maldonado for their refusal to attend medical consult at San Blas.
