Marcos' Brother agrees to persuade Marcos and followers on Tiburon to surrender. Elizondo feels that since so few rebels left at large, the presidial forces should be sufficient to handle them. Ff. 264-266 report jailing of Indians in Arispe to prevent further rebellion against Spain. Ff. 274-275 is an index of questions asked by Croix of ex-viceroy Mayorga and at San Carlos and real Casa at Arispe, collection of fees for maritime transport and Alcabala in California, Velasquez to replace ailing Barri as gobernador of California, formation of new compania volante, Croix requested by viceroy for meeting in Mexico. Cadete Diaz de Luna sent to provincias to serve. Ugarte y Loyola returns original expedientes received from Matias de and Santander for which arrangements were not completed (documents not present). Virreynato communicates to Ugarte y Loyola various administrative suitable company. Notification that ordinance has been issued concerning liquidation of investments saved in Texas and Sonora; to be reintigrated into population and friendship of Luisiana Indians. Request that administrator of tobacco send unspecified amount of tobacco monthly to Santoja to pay debt. Mangino to be in charge of mining and commerce. Notification of receipt of extracts of reviews of presidios of California. Request to return certified copy of royal title which king deemed necessary in comandancia general. Notice that it is up to royal officials to decide on substitutes to review lists of presidios of California.
