Virrey approves nomination of sargent, lieutenant of Pasaje (f. 334). Rubi thanks virrey for acceding to his request that Pedriza replace Vargas as captain of Pasaje. Munoz notes that mulatos, mestizos, coyotes are suited to soldiering at presidios por estar estos hechos al trabajo, y acostumbrados a mantenerse . . . con los bastimentos ordinarios que ofrece el pais . . .
