Documents relating to military appointments civil appointments and life in general within Provincias Internas. Most viceroy by Croix for two thousand men to bring peace to provincias, documents against capitan Barrios and his removal, naming of capellanes to presidios, requests of salary advancements from religious personnel and military personnel. Also, total commercial freedom in Americas with cultivation, collection and transportation of pepper and Tabasco to Spain, prohibiting Duran and Chavez to travel to Spain again without first requesting viceroy's permission, orders to transfer Queipo to Spain to live with wife, issuance of new coined money to Cajas reales and lists of personnel who have finished their service and retired due to injuries and insanity. Various documents relating to civil and military affairs within Provincias Internas in particular, authorization to capitan Martinez to wed if future wife's dowry proven. Ministers from real hacienda have same rights to retire to Spain with kings permission with third of salary as priests. Request by Fernandez to be reimbursed for monies given to Medina for subsistance and trip to Mexico for horses. Request denied by viceroy as Fernandez did not follow procedures. Food supplies for presidios in California. Letters to governor of Veracruz to aid Croix's doctor in travel to Mexico. Requests for gunpowder of first quality to be used in war time in presidios along frontier. Raise of salary for Escorza. Extinction of compania volante de Sonora under king orders. (A. Expediente, accompanied by cover sheet, concerning commerce mention of abuses of commerce by Spaniards; commerce in contraband items with prohibited Indian groups; unauthorized dealings with Indians; need for trade with Comanches, Navajos, and Yutas; use of commerce to solidify treaties and maintain peace; establishment of rules to regulate commerce; policies regarding commerce of past governors; discussion of several know illegal traders; mention of support of this trade by fray Sebastian Anton; lack of complete trust in Navajos; continuing warfare with Apaches Gilenos; commerce in stolen goods; arrangements for trade fairs to be held at pueblos; orders from Ugarte to Anza regarding these situations, and Anza's response to these orders; methods of establishing laws regarding crimes of homicide, robbery, rape, and adultery; mention of Indian grievances regarding commerce; arrangements made with Yutas for return of stolen horses; and use of passports to maintain orderly commerce. Summary
Documents deal with Oca's request to go to Spain and take with him his money. Included long document signed by many people testifying to good deeds of Oca as captain of San Sabas; mention of his valor against Indian attack. Mention that he assisted people with his own corn in times of need, and donating his house to serves as a church. There is also a list of soldiers debts paid by Oca. Bucareli grants request. (J.
