In 16, Bocio, widow of late governor, requests monthly pension of 20 reales; matter discussed among fiscales, approved. Numero 17 includes accounts of expenditures incurred while transporting Collera of Meco Indians to Mexico City; money from various sources; terms of some money lent discussed among fiscales. Numero 14 concerns request by Rodriguez, passenger on ill-fated ship, 'san Judas Tadeo', headed to Havana from Spain but went down off coast of San Fernando; 9 of 13 crew members die, but Rodriguez, captain, others make shore safely in lifeboat; Rodriguez left without possessions, money, wants only to return to Spain, solicits government's assistance; supposed to return on fragata 'aurora', but captain gravely ill. Series of letters that deal with the finding of contraband on a ship in Veracruz, decommissioning of the ship, and impounding of contraband goods. There are letters from ship's Owner responding to the charges and explaining that goods proceeded not from its home port of Nuebo Santander but were boarded while at anchor in Veracruz. The letters warn them not to permit the French to smuggle any kind of goods. Concerns de la Bodega y Quadra's trip to Lima in order to bring Azoque (mercury) to San Blas. de la Bodega y Quadra's proposes that if he is unable to get mercury that he pay for the trip by bringing back weapons, fruits, and other goods from Lima and Panama.
