Letter explaining money given to Cavedes from funds of Propios from Saltillo and mention of negligence in management of those funds. Concerns order to put troops of Chihuahua under Cuellar's command. Copies of various documents and testimonies concerning cabildo of Chihuahua, formed in 1766 to decide over funds, provisions, and arms for auxiliary Indians and soldiers to fight against Apaches. People in cabildo named by Ayuntamiento of commerce and mines of Chihuahua. Mention of several incidents of Indian depredations, list of volunteers from Julimes to fight against Indians included, also mention of captain de la Cruz of naciones Nortenas to join in campaign against Indians. List of miners and merchants and discussion of bankruptcy of Nueva Vizcaya and of necessity to collect funds not only for war but also for construction of church. Discussion of extra funds to be collected from merchants and miners and from anyone who wishes to donate grain, horses, weapons etc. Cuellar is to collect these donations. Narration on attack strategies against Indians and their casualties; starvation suffered by Spaniards in campaign; stipends requested for Indian guides after expedition; statement of salaries paid to low ranking military personnel and Indian auxiliaries (ff. 91). Heavy casualty Rate among Indian auxiliaries after their leader fell in combat.

Documents concern an all out military campaign and very well organized raid against Nortenos and Apache Indians. Indian prisoners of the Spaniards play an important role in attacks against the Indian rancherias. Diaries of the campaign give full description of how raids were carried out. Military official in charge of the expedition requests stipends for Indian guides who proved loyal to the Spaniards. Vargas takes possession of presidio of Pasaje (f. 327). Virrey Rubi's charge of improper presidio administration (f. 329). Ruiz de Maranon named by Vargas to replace Rodaliega as sargent nomination of subordinate presidio officers, payment of cash wages to these officers (ff. 332-333). Virrey approves nomination of sargent, lieutenant of Pasaje (f. 334). Rubi thanks virrey for acceding to his request that Pedriza replace Vargas as captain of Pasaje.
