Ugarte informs Flores of Ansa's death and suggests Medina as temporary comandante de Armas de Sonora, and Romeu to occupy position permanently. Medina informs Ugarte his disposition to give Ansa's widow, Regina, the inheritance. Ugarte approves decision and temporarily gives him Ansa's position. On letter of January 16 Flores approves appointment of Romeu as long as he maintains old salary.
