Describes planting of crops. Abundant Mesquite and Nogales. Reports from others telling Escandon that more people coming to Guemes. He must allocate more corn and tools. Escandon says must plant wetter lands in sta. Anna because of difficulties in well construction. Also says have taken so much Cascara of Sabinos that have left them dry and dying. Practice will punished, must use palms for roofs. Instructions for Ciprian to direct residents and congregate residents. Escandon names location for mission. Includes city plan. (M. Concerns relocation of Sacramento presidio because of difficulties in water supply and irrigations problems. This document is a Series of testimonies confirming those difficulties. List of soldiers in the payroll of Sacramento presidio is given. Population of Sacramento presidio is taken to new location and were attacked on their way. Some military expeditions are organized after Indians attacked new place of Sacramento presidio; description of how Indian leaders were executed is given. Summary
Series of documents concerning reports of military forces that are available or incomplete in the various provincias del poniente. Documents include chart of comparative figures on military personnel, Indian prisoners, inventories of war supplies, ill soldiers, religious personnel and military in charge of presidios, military exercise and training, weapons and ammunition making, military escorts authorized, campaigns against Indians, postal services, target practices for soldiers, and a variety of events related to the activities proper of the presidios life. Documents include figures only. Names of people and military officials can be found in the chart foot notes. Summary
Concerns Series of documents dealing with military reports from presidios of Provincias Internas. This documents consists of diaries and detailed data on the military status of the various presidios under the administration of the corresponding commanders. Charts contain match of military campaigns with number of military officials, soldiers, equipment, and supplies along with footnotes giving additional explanation of arms and ammunition making, military events and novedades. Diaries of daily novedades that occurred in presidios are women kidnapped by soldier; desertions; horses, weapons ammunition, needed in presidios; food supplies, prisoners, clothes, sick soldiers, chaplains, shooting practices, burials, hiring of soldiers etc. (M. Concerns conflict of authority between military officials; woman is kept in captivity; Indians complain of mistreatment by Munoz and ask for his removal so problems between Indians and Spaniards will stop; very detailed narration of Indians being killed by government troops who went in their pursuit, indio Tomas is interrogated under oath, he describes how Indians survived and attacked the Spaniards; Indian prisoner gives account of how Indians planned attack against Spaniards, some Indian nations colluded to attack Spaniards in conjunction and trade items among themselves; report on Indian child being interrogated by Spaniard (text of the interrogation is included); diaries of the pursuit of Indians is sent to the viceroy, chart about the final result of the campaign is included here, chart shows number of Indians and soldiers who were killed in combat, ammunition, weapons used, horses, mules etc.; governor certifies the public exhibition of genitals and limbs of Indians killed in combat during campaign; letter is sent to the viceroy praising heroic action of captain Bustamante against Indian rebels in Palo Blanco; chart showing the general military status of San Antonio de Bexar, chart includes list of military officials and soldiers, horses, mules and different kinds of weapons; statistical chart showing population of the pueblos of Nuevo Santander, its missions and population in every city and town; complete review is carried out of the presidios of the province of Nuevo Santander, report about the visita is sent to the viceroy, report takes into account physical aspects, military conditions, troop's health situation, description of the valleys, rivers and strategic position of presidios.
